Peel or No Peel?

Peel Away the Doubts:

A Closer Look at Chemical Peels.

Chemical peels use a chemical solution to exfoliate the skin and reveal a smoother, more youthful-looking complexion. They're used to treat various skin concerns, such as acne, hyperpigmentation, and fine lines and wrinkles, and come in different strengths. The benefits of chemical peels include:

  • Improved skin texture and tone

  • Reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles

  • Reduction in the appearance of age spots, freckles, and dark patches

  • Improved acne-prone skin and reduction in acne scars

  • Boosted collagen production, resulting in firmer, plumper skin Improved skin hydration

  • Improved overall skin health and radiance

The procedure involves thoroughly cleansing the skin, applying the chemical solution with gauze, neutralizing it, and then applying sunscreen. After the peel, the skin may be red and sensitive, so it's crucial to follow the aftercare instructions provided by a skincare professional and avoid sun exposure.

The strength of chemical peels can range from light, medium to deep. Some peels, such as our Stimulator Peel are considered "lunchtime" peels, which means that there is little to no social downtime after the procedure and is intended to “prep the skin” to ensure the next step will be tolerated and to promote skin health. Other peels, like the 3-Step Peel may cause active peeling that begins 24 - 72 hours after the solution is applied to the skin. Chemical peels are safe and effective, but it's essential to work with a qualified professional to determine the best type of peel for your skin concerns and ensure proper application and aftercare.
